Cybercriminals Love The Holidays

The holiday season can be a stressful time, especially when cybercriminals are on the prowl! Cybercriminals know that distractions like traveling, family visits, and buying gifts are abundant, so they try to turn that stress into a payday for themselves! Let’s take a look at some common holiday threats.

Don’t Let Cybercriminals Trash Your Holiday Plans!

The signs of danger are the same whether cybercriminals contact you by phone, email, text message, or something else.

Threat 1: Does the message make strange, unusual, urgent, or emotional requests?

Always stop and think critically. If it sounds strange or too good to be true, it probably is.

Threat 2: Does the message ask for money or personal information?

Never give out money or personal information unless you can verify the legitimacy of the request.

Threat 3: Does the message contain links or attachments?

Only open links or attachments from trusted people.

Don’t let an act of folly steal your holiday jolly! Always stop, look, and think before taking an action!
