Apple Urges Immediate Update For All Users
By: Eric Vicencio
On Monday, September 13th, Apple released an emergency security patch for a zero-day vulnerability that affects every iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. A zero-day vulnerability is a vulnerability that cybercriminals had discovered before software developers became aware of them posing a high risk to users of the impacted software.
Last month it was identified that Apple’s iMessage was exploited to push an invasive Pegasus Spyware reportedly built by NSO Group, an Israeli security company, which gives the threat actor access to personal data, messages, and location without you even clicking on something.
ECT suggests that you run all updates on any of your iOS devices immediately! You can easily update your Apple devices now by following these steps:
- Click on Settings
- Scroll down to General
- Select Software Update
- Your device will automatically check for updates.
- If your device has not been automatically updated, click download and install on the available update.
